Sporty SUV to Mommy Soccer Van

Sporty SUV to Mommy Soccer Van

"I will always be an SUV mommy.  If I need a 3rd row of seating, then I will get an SUV that has a 3rd row.  I will NEVER get a min-van!!"

NEVER. SAY. NEVER.

We tried putting all 3 carseats in my SUV.  They fit... BARELY.  What really bothered me though is the fact that when we closed the doors they would hit the side of the infant carseats. If we got hit, those carseats are RIGHT next to the doors. :/  My SUV had a lot of room in the back, but where the kids would be was super scrunched.

We were going to just 'deal' with it.... but we got the opportunity to do an even trade for a mini-van.  Hmmmmmm... There is no way we could do an even trade for a nice SUV with 3 rows, especially without taking on payments.  In this crazy economy, a car payment is the last thing we want!

So, I started convincing the hubby on why we "neeeeeded" to trade the cars.  After test-driving it, he agreed it would be a good decision. I was excited. :)

BUT... when it came time to hand over the keys to my SUV, my preggo hormones got the best of me.  I'm pretty sure that every salesman in the lot stopped and starred at this crazy lady bawling her eyes out who wouldn't turn over her keys!  It was so embarrassing, but I could not control it!!  We can laugh about it now... although I wasn't laughing at the time.  Ha

I finally gave him my keys and went to sign the paperwork.  The guys found a stack of Hardee's napkins and gave them to me.

As I drove off the lot, guess what followed me almost ALL the way home??  An SUV EXACTLY like the one I traded in!!  Same color and everything.  I may have yelled at the lady "Stop tormenting me!!"  ... but I don't really remember. ;)

Now that the hormones have gone away (for the time being), I am really glad again that we got the mommy-van.  Little man loves it and it will be much easier when Thing 1 and Thing 2 get here.

Fighting in the Womb / Possible Placenta Previa

Fighting in the Womb

I went to the doctor to check on Baby A and B today.  (I'm 16.5wks along, but measuring 24wks.)  Boy, are they active!  The nurse can distinguish the babies heartbeats much faster if she does an ultrasound.  It's not the greatest quality machine that they use, which is why for most of my ultrasounds they send me to the hospital.

Anyway, as soon as the babies show up on the screen, we see Baby B pull its legs up to its chest... then shoot its legs straight out, kicking Baby A in the booty.  It was hilarious!  Although at the same time I wanted to say, "STOP THAT!!"  hahaha  He/she did it two times in a row.  I wish I had my phone within reach.

I know for sure I have felt them move twice in the past week. It's very faint, but this time I know what to 'look for'.  I didn't feel my son move until 19 weeks.

Possible Placenta Previa

The midwife also told me that they are going to keep a watch on Baby B for placenta previa.  She explained to me that it is when the placenta has grown low in the womb. His/her placenta looks like it is on or very close to the cervix.  Right now, all is good they will just watch it.  But if I have any bleeding, they want me to go straight to the hospital.  Believe it or not, I'm not worried about it.  My God has these little babies in His hands. I'll just say an extra prayer for them at night, and trust that He will take care of the rest.  I'd definitely appreciate any prayers from family/friends as well!  In reference to my previous post, this does confirm that I will NOT be running during this pregnancy.  :)

16 wk comparison

First of all, I am soooo itching to get back to running!!  I wasn't able to run the 1st tri with this pregnancy or my last pregnancy.  The hormone meds I take during the first 12 weeks make me really sick.  I expected it this time. It just kinda comes with the territory. My babies needed it, so of course I kept taking it!  :)  .... But, with my 1st pregnancy, I was able to start running again the beginning of my 2nd trimester.  This time, I'm pretty sure that's NOT going to happen. (For several reasons... I'll spare you the details though. haha)

OK--Here is a comparison of me at 16 weeks with lil man and me at 16 weeks with the twins... Can you tell a difference?  I can probably tell more than other people. :)

"Do twins run in your family?" (and other commonly asked questions)

Although I am not a huge blogger in the slightest, I have been getting a lot of questions about our pregnancy.  In case you are curious, here are a few of the most common ones:

Q: How far along are you?
A: 14 weeks

Q: When are you due?
A:  May 28th. Most twins are born at 36 weeks, so I'll be good to make it to the beginning of May.  Praying I can keep them in as long as possible!

Q: Are they identical?
A: No they are fraternal. So it could be boy/boy, girl/girl, or boy/girl.

Q:  Do twins run in your family?
A:  No.

Q: Did you do infertility treatment?
A:  Yes. (Feel free to send me a FB message if you have any questions regarding this topic!)

Q: How long did you do treatment?
A: 9 months. (6 rounds. We had to do a little break after one of the miscarriages.)

Q: Did you have to do treatment with your 1st pregnancy?
A: Yes. 5 rounds.

Q: Are you excited about having twins?
A:  Yes!!!  Also scared out of our minds. :)  A 2.5 year old and two infants. MY GOODNESS.  Life will be crazy, but we are so grateful.

Q:  How much weight do you have to gain?
A:  40-60lbs.  No, I'm not sure how I'm going to do that being lactose intolerant, unable to eat greasy foods, and totally disgusted by sweets right now... but I'm doing my best!!

My question to Hubby...
Q: "Do you think I can gain 40-60lbs and NOT gain any in my face?" :D
A:  "Probably not, hun."

Q: How much did you gain with your 1st pregnancy?
A: 30lb.

Q: How are you feeling?
A: Ok. 1st tri was rough, but who am I to complain about something I have begged God for?  Feeling better now.

As I said, I'm not a big blogger.  I will try to update this periodically especially for my family that is out of town.  I'd rather post this info on a blog than all over FB.  :)  We would DEFINITELY appreciate any prayers!!!
